We, the undersigned, call on the Yakima Valley’s elected officials to preserve, maintain, and restore as needed, all remaining YVT trolley tracks, including the 6th Avenue line to Selah. We recognize the trolleys’ economic, historic, and cultural importance, not only to our community’s past, but also its future.

I really hope the railway is saved. I want to visit it someday and have no reason to visit Yakima otherwise

My son and I have always loved the trolleys- it would be a tragedy if we lose a piece of our local history!

I visited in 2024 and had a chance to see the operation and meet a few of the YVT’s dedicated volunteers. The YVT is an absolute gem and truly unique. It deserves preservation. Doing so will continue to attract tourists like my friends and me. We stayed in town, ate locally, and made our visit to the museum one of the highlights of the trip.

We took our family on a ride and it was such a neat experience. We would love to see this continue for others!

This is something POSITIVE that Yakima has to offer. Keep the trolleys; they are worth the investment!

Please preserve this historical trolly line, and remember, at one time in the US, it was said you couild go from California to New York and never walk more than 2 blocks. The amazing network of trolly, interurban, regional and mainline railroads made this possible. It was all dismantely by Firestone and GM who wanted to sell busses and tires, proven by a lawsuit in the 1980's.

I live in Tacoma, and I think the Yakima Valley Trolley is a culturally and historically important to our history and heritage , important not just to the citizens of the Yakima Valley but to all citizens of the state of Washington State. I encourage the city of Yakima to continue an operating agreement and to maintain the irreplaceable infrastructure to allow it operate into the future. I
